B.Tech in Polymer Science and Engineering

The B.Tech course in Polymer Science and Engineering is an eight semester programme. The course offers seven semesters of lectures and laboratory classes followed by a final eighth semester consisting of an industrial research project and training. The research project is carried out in a reputed industry or research institution. The training programme is conducted in an industry and gives the candidate a thorough insight into the working of a rubber/plastic processing industry.

Admission requirements

Pass in Plus Two examination of the State of Kerala with mathematics, physis and chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent therto securing a minimum of 50 % marks in mathematics and 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.

The number of seats available for the course is 20

Lateral Entry

Two additional seats are open for 'lateral entry' students. Students who have completed a three-year Diploma in Polymer Engineering/Technology are to eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure

Admission for B.Tech course is based on the CAT (Common Admission Test) conducted by the University) ranking.  CAT examination is usually conducted in the month of May. Applications will be available during January/February.  Upto  20% of the seats will be reserved for candidates sponsored by public/private sector industries or research and development establishments in the field of Polymer Science/Technology

Fee Structure.

Tuition fee per semester - Rs. 4000/ ( Rupees four thousand only). Students are eligible for official hostel accommdoation. The hostel rent per month is Rs. 150/ (Rupees one hundred and fifty only).
